This year has been a struggle, and unfortunately, it looks like next year might be as well. It's been hard to deal with, and I've discovered if I just sit around and do nothing I can get pretty worked up about it. So, I work. I try to do whatever I can to make this preschool work. This week, I’ve been working on the Christian part of our curriculum. I’m actually pretty excited about it. This last year, I was disappointed in how I approached the topic. It felt disconnected and choppy. I know the students learned something, because many parents told me their children were talking about it at home, but I also know it could have been better.
The curriculum I’ve been working on is really a conglomeration of different curricula I have looked at. Essentially, we’ll study one bible verse and one bible story a week. Based on the verse and story, we’ll sing songs, do art projects, have chapel activities, and simply discuss what the story means. I think it will be a great change to our program. I’m waiting for Pastor’s comments, but I think he’ll like it.
Hammering this curriculum out gives me something to work on. It makes the waiting-for-better-days pass faster.
